Berry Farm Meats
Pasture-reared Suffolk lamb from Charsfield, butchered locally and sold simply by the half or whole lamb.
“The 2025 lamb was genuinely excellent — tender, full of flavour and exactly the sort of local lamb we wanted to produce.”
Local lamb from a small Suffolk farm
Berry Farm Meats is deliberately small scale. Our lambs are raised on pasture at Berry Farm in Charsfield, with a short and transparent journey from field to butcher to customer.
We want to produce excellent meat without turning it into something overly polished or complicated. The emphasis is on good grazing, low food miles, proper butchery and a clear sense of where your food has come from. The lamb is prepared for us by an award-winning local butcher in Bramfield.
Our 2026 lamb will be ready in late November, which makes it ideal for stocking the freezer before Christmas.

Come and see where your lamb comes from
Sheep visits are positively encouraged. If you would like to come to Berry Farm and meet the flock in the field, just arrange it with us beforehand.
We rather like customers being able to see the animals, the pasture and the farm for themselves. It is part of keeping the connection between the field and the food straightforward and transparent.
Visits can often be combined with collecting an order from the farm.

Frequently asked questions
What do I receive if I order a half or whole lamb?
Your lamb comes back from the butcher as a selection of properly prepared cuts ready for cooking or freezing. This will usually include a mixture of leg and shoulder joints, chops or cutlets, breast, neck and mince where suitable. Exact cuts and pack sizes can vary slightly.
How much does a whole or half lamb usually weigh?
A whole lamb will typically be around 18–22kg, with a half around 9–11kg. Lambs naturally vary, so the final weight and price will vary a little too.
Roughly how much will it cost?
At £15/kg, a typical whole lamb of 18–22kg would be approximately £270–£330. A typical half lamb of 9–11kg would be approximately £135–£165. You pay for the actual final weight.
How does the deposit work?
Submitting the form is a reservation request. Once we have confirmed availability, we will contact you and request a 10% deposit by BACS to secure the order. That deposit is deducted from the final bill. Once the exact weight is known, we will invoice the remaining balance by BACS.
When will the 2026 lamb be ready?
We expect the 2026 lamb to be ready in late November, which is ideal for stocking the freezer before Christmas. We will contact customers once collection dates are confirmed.
